The National Association of Colored Women's Clubs, Inc. and The Foxtrappe® "A Private Social Club" Affliate Will Sponsor The Worldwide Emancipation Proclamation On September 22, 2009, 12:00 PM at the Navy Memorial, and on every military post and government office in the world, the 147th Anniversary of the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation will be celebrated by Black Government Co-Workers & Soldiers inviting their Co-Workers and Friends to read together in fellowship “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”. This fellowship is to commemorate the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation, underscoring how we all sacrifice for each other. Unknown to most people is the fact that the Emancipation Proclamation, while freeing some of our descendants who were slaves in the South also officially gave all Freed People the right to serve as soldiers in this government. Inviting a diverse fellowship of Co-Workers to join in the reading of the "Battle Hymn of the Republic, is not an empty gesture. Rather, it mirrors the spirit of sacrifice, made by all to free our people as we Americans are making to free the world from terror. " As he died to make men holy lets us die to make men free" underscores the basis of our sacrifice for each other and the world. For decades the talented tenth of the Post War baby Boom occupied our building. They, under the trade mark, Foxtrappe a private social club, drew the most excellent men and women of that generation through our doors. Their social, political, and economic journey has lead to the election of our president. Their members mostly employed in government began the outreach in 1990.
